We have chosen the Coliseum as a reference for its elegance – we believe there is no more fitting tribute to the world’s greatest football club.
The Bernabéu cannot simply be a new skin, or envelope or surface – if there is anything that Real Madrid cannot be, it is superficial. Like Real Madrid, the Coliseum is pure structure. That is the choice we are proposing: a mere structure, timeless and proportionate, instead of a changeable or superficial skin. What the Coliseum is to Rome, the new Bernabéu will be to Madrid – Real Madrid’s home.
