Client / FundaciĆ³n Luis Carlos Sarmiento Angulo
Collaborating Architect / Construcciones Planificadas, S.A. (CPSA)

The 230-bed hospital complex will include a hotel and a major research centre and will develop a patient- and family-centred model of care.

The Luis Carlos Sarmiento Angulo Foundation, developer of the hospital, selected Spanish architect Rafael de La-Hoz from a group of international specialized healthcare firms to develop the project together with Construcciones Planificadas as local architect.

Located in the Calle 170 in the north of Bogota, the shape of the complex is presented as an outstretched hand that will welcome the patient, looking towards the Cerros Orientales, offering a magnificent view of the foothills of the Cerros Orientales in Bogota.

The functional program focus on three basic elements: efficiency, light and silence. The interior spaces are dominated by an environment in which natural light and silence are as therapeutic as science.
