The King Juan Carlos Hospital by Rafael de La-Hoz receives the 2015 International Architecture Award from the Chicago Athenaeum (USA)

The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, informs that The King Juan Juan Carlos Hospital by Spanish architect Rafael de La-Hoz has received the 2015 International Architecture Award.
Located in Móstoles, Madrid (Spain) Rafael de La-Hoz proposes to transform the citizen into a client, for a new type of hospital.
Conceptually, this new Hospital is arranged on a plynth that houses health care units, outpatients, diagnosis and treatment. The hospital is structured in three parallel modules or buildings which represent the best of hospital matrix structures; flexibility, expansion, functional clarity and horizontal circulation.
The International Architectural Awards are the highest and most prestigious distinguished building awards program that honor new and cutting-edge design. This annual program, organized by both institutions, also promotes international architecture and design to their public audience globally.
The 2015 Jury for Awards was held at BMW Headquarters in Munich and over 60 projects from 22 nations were selected by a distinguished group of German and Italian architects, journalists, and educators.

In November, 2015, The Chicago Athenaeum, together with The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies will present a special exhibition of all awarded buildings -including The King Juan Carlos Hospital- at the annual symposium, “The City and the World” in Chicago.
